Engage, Learn, and Delight!
The Kennett Area Senior Center is committed to offering our members and community a wide array of programs and services in a warm and welcoming environment.
Since our spring of 2022 re-opening, we are busy developing new programs, and bringing back some old favorites, designed to engage and enhance everyday life!
If you are a first-time participant plan to come a few minutes early as we have some required information that we need. After that, plan to come and enjoy!

Lunch Café
For those age 60+, a hot lunch is available daily at noon for the suggested donation of $2. The cost of lunch for visitors under age 60 is $5.70.
Pre-registration is required. Registration for any or all lunches must be completed no later than noon, the open business day BEFORE the day you wish to join us. No reservations will be taken on days the Center is closed, including weekends.

Produce/Bread Distribution
In partnership with the Chester County Food Bank, KASC Distributes produce every Wednesday at 12:30 pm. In partnership with Giant Foods, bread, baked goods and more are available Monday through Thursday.
Alzheimer’s Support Group
Held on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 10:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Alzheimer’s affects not only the individual but also those in the role of caregiver. If you’re caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s, this group provides a place to connect with others and find support and fellowship.
Periodic health, wellness, and informational workshops and presentations
Whether we’re partnering with medical professionals or hosting a seminar by local law enforcement, check out the monthly activity calendar for these special and valuable educational sessions.
Coffee and Conversation
Join us mornings at 9:00 a.m. for a healthy snack, coffee, or tea, and time with friends, old and new. Pre-registration is not required, but our first-time visitors are required to provide some information.
Canasta
Join us Wednesdays at 12:30 pm for our popular Canasta program. Don’t know how to play? No worries, we will teach you.
Digital Photography Club
Wednesdays from 12:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Whether you’ve been passionate about photography for years or just started snapping photos on your phone, this club is for anyone who loves the lens. No fancy equipment is required. Pre-registration is required. Please call Jeanie Dean at 610-444-4819 if you’re interested.
Technology for Seniors
Stay connected with family and friends! We will teach you the basics of cell phone, e-mail, zoom, and more. Individual sessions as needed and by appointment. Please contact Lori Holcombe at (610) 444-4819 or lholcombe@kennettseniorcenter.org for more information.
Medicare Counseling
Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight (PA MEDI) offers free Medicare counseling to older Pennsylvanians. PA MEDI Counselors are specially trained and certified to answer your questions and provide you with objective, easy-to-understand information about Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Medicaid, and Long-Term Care Insurance. PA MEDI Counselors do not sell Medicare products but rather offer current, unbiased Medicare education to help you make the most informed choice about the Medicare options available to you.
Counselors are available on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., however, an appointment is necessary. Call Lori Holcombe at (610) 444-4819 to make your appointment.

Discover your family history! Help is available by appointment on Friday mornings. Call (610) 444-4819 or stop in to make your appointment.
Book Club
Meets from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month. Check the Center newsletter for current month’s selection. Books are always better when discussed with friends!
Line Dancing Lessons
Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Beginners are welcome! No need to register in advance but first-timers must fill out some paperwork!
Games, Cards & Puzzles
Available every day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Bring a friend or meet a new one while enjoying a game!
Mental Gymnastics
Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Flex your brain with a fun mix of word games, brain teasers, number puzzles, trivia and more! This lively group is all about keeping your mind sharp while having a great time together.
Day Bingo
Come and test your luck and win some prizes with daytime Bingo – Mondays at 12:30 p.m. No advance sign-up is required.
SilverSneakers Classic
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated or standing support. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:55 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Registration and waiver required.
T’ai Chi Chih
A series of movements designed to help the flow of natural energy in our bodies. Experience joy through movement! Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration and waiver required.
Aqua Kendal & Crosslands
A fun weekly workout featuring cardio and strength exercises designed to improve cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and balance. Class space is limited and pre-enrollment is required. Classes are offered on Tuesday or Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. KASC Membership is required – enroll here.

Kennett Square YMCA
Kennett Square YMCA – Partial Kennett YMCA Access Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (pools, track, free weights, Nautilus, and Cardio Rooms). Please note when you bring your KASC membership tag to the Y, you will be asked to register and the Y will give you a separate tag. KASC Membership is required – enroll here
Words of Life Study Group
A weekly gathering focused on exploring inspirational texts, meaningful passages, and thought- provoking messages. Reflect, discuss, and draw insight for daily life. Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Fiber Arts @ the Center
Love to knit or crochet or want to learn? Please join us on Mondays in the Community Room from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Healthy Grieving Support Group
Designed to encourage people to deal with grief and trauma in a way that lightens the load of past and present grief. The 3rd Monday of each month at 12:45 p.m.
Rummikub
A group game that combines elements of rummy and mahjong. Our “Rummikubbers” are happy to teach newcomers! Every 1st & 3rd Tuesday at 12:45 p.m.
Mahjong
American Mahjong is a game of strategy, skill and luck. Players are welcome on Fridays 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. If you are new to game and would like to learn, give us a call or send an email so we can set up an earlier “beginners” time for you.
Bunco
A fun and lively dice game. Super easy to learn and a fan favorite! 1st & 3rd Thursdays at 12:45 p.m.
