Free Tax Preparation Service

We offer free tax preparation help to anyone and if you’re 50 and older, and can’t afford a tax preparation service, we were made especially for you. We understand that retirement or other life changes may mean your taxes are a little more complicated now. With the help of our team of IRS-certified volunteers we make it easy for you.

Schedule for 2021:

UPDATE 2/8/2021:
Waiting list of 15 taxpayer appointments has been filled and
we will call by Wednesday, February 10, 2021
if you have been placed on the waiting list.
If you were placed on the waiting list and we called to confirm,
we will only call again if an appointment time opens.

With COVID-19 mitigation in mind, we have worked diligently with our AARP Tax Preparation Site Leader to arrange tax preparation services.  Due to COVID-19, AARP is not permitting on site preparation of tax returns by it’s volunteers.  Instead, taxpayers will sign a “permission to scan” document, and AARP volunteers will prepare returns remotely.

How will this work?  Services will be “curbside”.  Taxpayers will schedule an appointment to come to KASC on a Monday or a Thursday between February 15th and April 8th.  Eighteen appointments per day will be scheduled.  Taxpayers will safely park, put on a mask and an AARP volunteer will come to the car to collect the necessary documents.  The taxpayer will remain in the car at all times and original documents will be returned as soon as the scan is complete.  On the day of your appointment, a subsequent appointment will be scheduled for pick up of the completed return, also curbside only.

The KASC main number (610-444-4819) answering machine has been updated to include instructions for appointment scheduling.  Please call that number and follow instructions.  (Press 2 to leave a message for the AARP Tax Site Leader).  Calls will be returned on Tuesdays only, beginning February 2nd, so please be patient while you await your call from an AARP volunteer.
